Behind the 411 of Bass Fishing

What happens when 10 of the nation’s most elite bass pros and 10 of the nation’s most elite outdoor journalists are joined together at one location for 3 days? A new on-ramp is built onto the information super-highway.

During the second week of October, for three solid days, the majority of the Strike King national pro staff met with some of the most highly successful resources in outdoor media and they invaded the beautiful Henry County/Paris Landing area of Kentucky Lake. Also on hand were members of the Strike King staff, as well as several of our regional pros. The outcome of this event should be an influx of “how to” information to eager bass anglers everywhere.

Here is the premise of an event of this nature; Strike King Lure Company meshes our relationship with outdoor writers, videographers and radio personalities with our top level pros in order to offer the most accurate and relevant how to information about the when, where and how to use our products available to our customers. How better to learn when to throw a Sexy Spoon than to hear it from Mark Rose? How better to learn where to throw a squarebill crankbait than to get the opinion of Kevin Vandam? How better to learn when to flip a jig versus plastic than to get it straight from Greg Hackney? Do you see where I’m going with this?

Now, here’s how the deal goes down. We took our pros and put a writer in the boat with them on arguably one of the best lakes in the U.S. They go out and fish employing a particular lure. Meanwhile, a writer gets first hand insight on why, how, when, and where. They then take notes and photos of the angler and hopefully the fish they caught during said fishing trip. Then, the writer puts a story or article together using this material and gets it into a major outdoor media outlet. Finally, bass fishing fans everywhere get to absorb and apply the knowledge that they gained from reading, or watching, or listening to said story.

Here is what just happened; Strike King has successfully promoted our products through promoting our pro’s while offering outdoor writers content that offers valuable information to our customers. Don’t you just love a story where everyone wins in the end?

You guys are the greatest group of fishermen on planet Earth, and possibly any other planet if you believe in that sort of thing. Kentucky Lake is an incredible area, fishery, and vacation destination. Despite the size of the lake, it’s the small town hospitality of the Paris Landing area that makes it special. You will be hard pressed to find anywhere else where you can go and experience the fishing, fun, and family atmosphere that defines Henry County and Paris Landing.
