Question: What is the best time of year for using the spinner bait?

Answer: Spring and fall are probably the two most-productive times of year to fish for bass with a spinner bait. We catch a lot of bass out in the summertime too: just by letting the spinner bait go down to the bottom and reeling it slowly.

Question: Give me an instance when you have used this effectively.

Strike King LuresAnswer: One year, I was fishing at Kentucky Lake. The bass were out on the rocks. The boat was sitting in about 20 feet of water -- the fish were about 15-feet down. I paralleled the shelf and bumped my spinner bait along the bottom. I caught a big string of fish that day.

Question: Are there any off-the-wall Strike King lures that you use?

Answer: The wildest bait that Strike King has right now is the one called the Wild Thang. It even has a wild name. The Wild Thang is a cross between a plastic tube and a plastic lizard -- a bunch of different lures all compacted into one. This bait is big, bulky-looking and is good to flip. The Wild Thang is great bait to use with a Carolina rig. This bait works well when fish are out on the rocks.
