Question: Tell me about another bait that you really enjoy fishing.

Wurm: Well, Strike King has come out with a new spinner bait, and it is hard to come out with something new in spinner baits. A spinner bait is a spinner bait. But Strike King has new spinner bait called Redeye spinner bait. There isn't anything fancy about it, but it has a different presentation to the fish.

They have brought back a big red eye on the spinner bait. To some of us older guys, like myself, there are baits I like to throw simply because I have confidence in them that I think will work better than the new stuff. I have some old spinner baits with the big red eyes on them, and Strike King has brought back the Redeye spinner bait. The big red eye is an attractant to the bass. I really think they may key in on the red flash at the head of the lure. They may be thinking it is part of the gill or maybe it’s bleeding. The red flicker really attracts them.

Mike WurmLooking at all of your old baits, the old harness worm we used to get all had red beads on the front. Many guys, who Carolina rig, use red beads on their Carolina rigging. Also, plenty of guys who use rattles when they Texas rig use red beads. The little red dot there in the front definitely is an attractant to the bass. The big Redeye spinner bait is a definite attractant.

To enhance this even further, Strike King has used a No. 4-1/4 willow-leaf blade with one side metal-colored and the other side a painted hologram finish, which looks just like another shad. It appears to be twin shad coming through the water. These two baits attract the attention of bass even more. It’s a really neat spinner bait that presents a different look to the fish due to the red eye and the holograph finish on the blade.
