More of Brauer's Advice
Editor's Note: Denny Brauer of Camdenton, Missouri, has had 13 BASS career wins, and has won both the BASS Masters Classic and the FLW Angler-of-the-Year title.
Question: How important in your bass-fishing success is keeping on trying new things?
Brauer: I think it is very important if you fish highly-pressured waters. You’ll find a lot of fishing pressure on the lakes in the middle and southern parts of the United States. If you go farther north, where the seasons are shorter, you won't find as much fishing pressure per acre on public bodies of water. It's probably not as critical because those fish do not get as conditioned to artificial lures. So, you can get by with some of your traditional retrieves and have quite a bit of success.
