George Cochran's Favorite Lures and When to Fish Them

The Titanium Pro-Model Spinner Bait

Strike King LureEditor's Note: George Cochran of Hot Springs, Arkansas, a longtime member of Strike King's Pro Fishing Team, has won the BASS Masters Classic twice and has qualified for this World Series of bass fishing numerous times. Cochran has proved over and over again that he's one of the best shallow-water anglers in the nation. Many fishermen consider him the master of finding overlooked places to find fish and using under-utilized tactics to catch bass. Today we'll talk with Cochran about a time when Strike King saved the day for him.

My two favorite times to fish the Titanium Pro-Model spinner bait are when I'm fishing stained- water conditions or when I'm on a clear lake with a lot of wind. One of the biggest advantages to the Titanium spinner bait is that a bass will get hooked when it hits this bait. I've caught 100 bass before in one day using this spinner bait. Also, I believe the Titanium Pro-Model helps the blades spin better. And when a bass attacks the bait, it's able to crush it, which enables the bass to get the hook in its mouth much better than when the blade arm is made of wire.

George CochranLast year I finished sixth in points on the BASS circuit, and the Titanium Pro-Model spinner bait was one of the main reasons I was so successful. I probably caught 75% of my bass on this bait.

When the Titanium Spinner Bait Made a Difference:

At a FLW Tournament on the Red River, I fished within 1/2 mile of Kevin VanDam in a little creek. Kevin finished second in that tournament, and I finished fourth. Both of us used Strike King's Titanium Pro-Model spinner baits, and at the weigh-in, both of us had between 30 and 40 pounds of bass.
