The Pro Model Spinnerbait
Another lure that helped me reach the Classic this year would have to be the Strike King spinnerbait. This lure is a mainstay in my arsenal. I can't think of any tournament I have fished in where I didn't have a Strike King spinnerbait. Whether it be the number lure or one that I use to catch a couple of fish doesn't matter it is still always tied on to one of my rods. I like to use the 3/8-ounce Pro Model spinnerbait. I use it in number 4 gold with willow leaf blades and a number 2 colorado chartruese and white with a couple of different trailers.
On the Harris Chain of Lakes I finished in the top 10. My main lure was a 3X worm carolina rigged, but the 3/8-ounce Pro Model spinnerbait was the lure I caught the biggest and most fish on. When I got into the final day the spinnerbait was the only thing I could find any fish on. The Pro Model spinnerbait proved itself by keeping me in the tournament when nothing else was working. It's always good to have a spinnerbait handy so when you run across a good spinnerbait spot you can stop and throw.
