Shaw Grigsby on 3X Salt Impregnated Soft Plastic Lures

How to Fish the 3X Salt-Impregnated Finesse Worm

Editor's Note: New this year from Strike King is the 3X Salt Impregnated soft plastic lures. This week, well-known professional bass fisherman Shaw Grigsby of Gainesville, Florida, will tell us how, where and why to fish them.

Grigsby: One of the hottest new techniques on the professional bass-fishing circuit is dropshotting, an extremely-deadly technique in deep clear lakes for largemouth and in other lakes for spotted bass. This new finesse worm from Strike King is salt impregnated and is not only a great lure for dropshotting. It causes the bass in deep clear lakes that will normally hit a bait and run, to hold onto the bait longer so you can catch them. If you drop a finesse worm down deep, it will sink faster than other worms do. If you twitch a finesse worm up off the bottom, it will come up and go down quickly. I believe this is the very best dropshotting worm on the market today because professional fishermen have designed it to be the type lure we need when we're using this tactic.

Strike King also have some great new colors for this little worm. One of the reasons I can say that Strike King's new salt impregnated 3X finesse worm is the best dropshotting worm on the market is because you can't get the action from plastic that you can get from this 3X material. When you shake a 3X finesse worm, the vibration goes from the tip of the worm's head to the tip of its tail and causes the tail to flare and wiggle. 3X material transmits movement much more violently than ordinary plastic worm material does. The other advantage to this new dropshotting worm is you're not constantly having to change the worm out. You can catch a bass, straighten your worm on the hook, drop the worm back down and catch another bass. You don't have to waste time re-rigging another worm on your hook because the bass has torn up the worm you've used to catch him. I usually can catch 10 to 20 bass on just one of these salt-impregnated finesse worms. If you dropshot, you'll really enjoy fishing this new salt -impregnated 3X finesse worm.
