Tips for Better Bass Fishing From the Strike King Pros
Editor's Note: We all want to be better bass fishermen, but learning how to become a better bass fisherman isn’t easy. To simplify the process, we’ve asked Strike King pros Kevin VanDam, James Niggemeyer, Denny Brauer, Mark Davis and Greg Hackney to give us their secrets on how to become better bass fishermen. To get the most out of this week’s pros tips, we suggest you watch them with a notebook and pen. Write down the suggestions the pros give you that you haven’t been doing. Then each day you go fishing, take this list with you, and let the Strike King Pros help coach you into being the best bass fisherman possible. One of the best suggestions I’ve heard is to tape this list inside one of your tackle boxes or, have the list laminated, punch a hole in the end of the lamination with the tips on it, and use a shower-curtain hook to hook this list onto your tackle box or somewhere on the console of your boat. Then each day you go fishing, you’ll be aware of each tip you need to practice to become a better fisherman.
One of the problems with learning tips and tactics for catching more bass is if you’re not constantly reminded of these strategies, and you don’t keep these suggestions in front of you each time you’re on the water, you may forget some of the keys you need to know to move from being a good bass fisherman to a great bass fisherman. The Strike King Pros have spent their lives learning how to be better bass fishermen, and if you’ll take these tips and suggestions they offer freely, you drastically can increase your odds for catching more bass every day you’re on the water.
