Amerson has "Flawless" Open in Paducah, but that's just fishing.

Paducah, KY-Team Strike King Regional Pro-Staff member Keith Amerson of Bethel Springs TN is no stranger to the Co-angler side of the BASS Central Open events. This is Keith's second year fishing the Opens and he has high hopes of qualifying for the Pro-side for next season via the Open Championship. "A few good solid finishes and this will make up my mind about fishing the Pro-side next year." Amerson said.

All that came to a head as Keith went out on day 1 of the season opening Central Open on the Tennessee, Cumberland and Ohio rivers in Paducah KY and had an awesome day weighing in a little over 9 pounds and taking a 2 pound lead overall on the Co-angler side. "I just had an awesome day, a great pro in Tommy Martin and just an awesome day." Using a Strike King series 1 Crankbait in Chartreuse with a black back, Keith went out again on the second day and while only weighing in one fish, a solid 3 pounder is the one to weigh-in.

Going into the final day, Keith had led both days and needed another solid day to secure the win. Weighing in 4 keepers and little over 6 pounds on day 3, Keith saw his win slip away as a huge sack was brought in by another angler who wasn't even a threat until weigh-in. "I had a flawless week, I caught every fish that bit each day and did not lose any or break any off. I did all that I could do from the back of the boat and that’s just fishing." Amerson said of his second place finish.

In just his fourth career BASS Open event, Keith has made three cuts and is currently leading the Co-angler points for the Central Opens. Congratulations Keith, All of us here at Strike King are proud of you and wish you good luck on the next event.

Rose takes wind out of Classic Champs sails and has solid finish in his 1st FLW Championship

Birmingham, AL – Team Strike King member Mark Rose of Marion Arkansas had an awesome week at the FLW tour season ending Championship on Lake Logan Martin last week. Under the new Bracket format that FLW incorporates into the first two rounds of their Championship Mark faced newly crowned BassMasters Classic Champ Takahiro Omori in a head-to-head fish off. Mark easily took the wind out of "Tak's" sails and moved on to face Dave Lefebre in the semifinal round. "It's a huge boost of confidence to beat the Classic Champ in a head to head format, I'll take this and build on it for next year." Mark told Strike King.

20th place however was all Mark could muster as he was defeated by a mere 6 ounces! Using a 3/16 ounce Strike King Bleeding Bait Spinnerbait, Mark made quick work of the Logan Martin bass, catching a limit quickly shallow and then moving to some other patterns to "cull-up."
