MINNEAPOLIS (Nov. 9, 2012) – FLW announced today that Strike King Lure Company has re-signed as an associate sponsor of FLW for the 2013 season. Financial terms of the deal were not released. Strike King has been in business for more than 40 years with a wide selection of fresh and saltwater baits as well as polarized sunglasses and will receive exposure across all of FLW’s platforms, including its tournaments and Expos, multiple websites, FLW Bass Fishing magazine and the “FLW” television show on NBC Sports Network. “FLW” is broadcast Sundays in high-definition (HD) to more than 559 million households worldwide, making it the most widely distributed weekly outdoors-sports television show in the world.

Strike King will also serve as title sponsor of the Angler of the Year award in the EverStart Series for each of the five divisions – Central, Northern, Southeast, Texas and Western. The top pro and co-angler from the point standings in each division after four events win the Strike King Angler of the Year and Co-angler of the Year titles, respectively, which qualifies them to fish the 2014 Forrest Wood Cup provided they fish a full EverStart Series Division or the 2014 Walmart FLW Tour.

Phil Marks' Winning Catch at Sam RayburnLet’s be honest. In bass fishing, size does matter. We fish for the biggest bass we can catch. We want to win the biggest tournaments that we can win. We want to cash the biggest checks that we can cash. “Biggest” is the measuring stick against which everything in the bass fishing world is measured.

I doubt you have had someone walk up and say, “I’ve been saving up to go fishing on Lake So-And-So. It is full of two pounders. I can’t wait to get there! It will be awesome!”
More than likely you have heard someone say something such as, “I am planning on going to Falcon/Fork/Amistad/Guntersville/Okeechobee/etc. That place is full of toads. I can’t wait to get there! It will be awesome!”

New Strike King 10XD Crankbait Alongside a 5XDCollierville, Tenn. (October 18, 2012) – Upon its recent notoriety in conjunction with an FLW tournament win and the subsequent buzz surrounding it, Strike King Lure Company is now prepared to unleash their newest monster bass catcher to the world. Allow us to introduce you to the Strike King 10XD!

Big bass are known to eat big baits. Coincidentally, bass anglers target big bass. The all-new 10XD deep diving crankbait will appeal to both. At 6” long, the 10XD will easily hit the 25-foot mark on 14-pound fluorocarbon line, allowing you to get a crankbait in front of fish that you previously could not reach. It also casts and pulls surprisingly easy for its behemoth size.

It seems like everything’s coming up roses for Mark Rose. Earlier this month, the National Guard pro from West Memphis, Ark., became the first-ever recipient of the Forrest L. Wood Sportsmanship and Community Leadership Award presented by Goodwill.

Talking to people who are familiar with the angler, it’s no surprise Rose was chosen. The humble pro perfectly embodies the characteristics required for the award, being a man widely regarded for his ethics, integrity and community involvement.

Shaping his life around the needs of others is not a new concept for Rose. Prior to becoming a professional angler, he served as a district executive for the Boy Scouts of America, a position that enabled him to network with influential people while exerting a positive influence on local children and his community. That laid the groundwork for what would become a notable career in competitive fishing.

Strike King 6.5 in. Shadalicious SwimbaitCollierville, TN (March 23, 2012) – The Shadalicious swimbait from Strike King has been a favorite of anglers targeting multiple species throughout the world since its introduction. Its soft texture and hollow-bodied design allowed it to swim with an uninhibited motion to more resemble live bait. Its colors were very precise, and allowed for any forage or water color scenario. The Shadalicious was initially offered in four sizes and all were very popular. Eventually, the big swimbait craze cooled off and most bass anglers found different ways to apply the mid-sized baits for most situations. Sales of the largest version, the 6.5” model, declined and it was removed from the lineup.
