Other Tips:

You can use the same methods to rig a 3X lure onto your hook, jig or lure as you do with regular plastics. When threading a 3X lure onto you hook, the hook point and barb will easily go through the lure for rigging and hook set. The material is so durable that you can push the hook all the way through and then “skin-hook” it (Fig. 10). This can enhance hook-sets. Don’t be alarmed when you re-rig you lure after catching a fish, changing colors or getting it straight on the hook that the barb will catch on the material as you back it out of the lure (Fig. 11). Go ahead and pull it back out. It won’t really hurt it. The material is extremely elastic and almost heals itself (Fig. 12).

When choosing a jig-head, it is best if the barb is not too close to the head of the jig (Fig. 13). When rigging a 3X Grub onto a jig head, push the barb deep into the body of the Grub so that it can catch hold of the material (Fig. 14) This is important. Once on (Fig. 15), it will stay on much better than regular plastic. In fact, “screw lock” types of rigging devices are not needed.
