When fish go shallow in the summer time to hide in the shadows of cover, weedless baits are the most efficient. Use a topwater frog to cover water and a flipping bait to pick a key area apart.
The majority of bass move out to deep main lake structure in the summer. Scan the bottom of the lake using a depth finder to find any underwater structure, then use a deep-diving crankbait to find fish quickly. Once fish have been found, follow the crankbait up with football jig if you need to slow down.
