“Fall without a doubt is my favorite time of the year,” says Mark Davis, Strike King pro. During the autumn months, Davis has tremendous success using the Strike King Lil Ledge Spoon, Strike King Game Hawg, and the Strike King Finesse Worm.
When fishing in the fall, there is a specific technique that Davis uses to land a lot of fish – snapping the 7/8 oz. Lil Ledge Spoon off the bottom of the lake and letting it flutter back. The Lil Ledge Spoon has a unique design with a curved body to create a shimmering and spinning motion to get the attention of those fish lurking around depths of 20- to 40-feet.
After the Lil Ledge Spoon starts to get less bites, Davis switches over to the Game Hawg. “I am going to have a basic Carolina rig set up – ¾ oz. Strike King Tungsten weight and a 3- to 4-foot leader with a 2/0 hook. I like the Strike King Game Hawg in the Blue Craw color, which is always good,” shares Davis.
Davis utilizes the Red Bug Finesse Worm during the warmer parts of fall, switching to Green Pumpkin or Moon Juice when the water temperatures start to cool down. “With that one-two punch for you in the fall, if you’ll give it a try, you’re going to catch a lot of fish,” Davis says.
